Classes

Pupils range in age from 'walking' or 1 years to 16 years.

Students may go into the performance industry, attending many weekly classes, others are looking for a social hobby, all have fun.

Royal Academy of Dance Ballet   - Busybodies is a fully accredited examination centre for RAD 

As a dance school we are proud to be affiliated with, and teach RAD ballet.

The Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) is one of the most important dance education organisations in the world. Exams that are seen as setting standards for classic ballet around the world.

The RAD was founded in 1920. Today, the institute has a presence in 85 countries including 36 offices and boasts over 14,000 worldwide members. 

 

International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA) Tap   -

An enjoyable way to dance building rhythm, and using the mathematical area of the brain. 

Tap has many origins, such as the African Jazz age, the Irish Jigs and Step Dancing, English northern Clog Dancers. 

Tap is as popular today as it was in the heyday of the great Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly musicals.

Shows, 42nd Street and Crazy For You, Stomp and Tap Dogs, highlight the great diversities of style and music in tapping.

Busybodies follows the IDTA examination syllabus progression to allow students to build skills with a strong foundation of technique. 

International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA) Modern/Jazz   -

Modern Jazz is fun, pupils develop many movements with varying rhythms and musical styles. Classes are structured to build physical strength and flexibility required and to demonstrate emotion through interpretation.

Pupils explore contrast between expansion and relaxation, learning to isolate.

Classes are a wonderful opportunity to react and interact with other and dance expressing your feelings.

International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA) Theatre Craft   -

The Theatre Craft syllabus develops the dancers versatile show. Styles include; Musical Theatre, Pantomime, Cabaret and Commercial.

Essential elements – kicks, turns, and rhythmic awareness – are explored, props and accessories are used to assist the styles.

The fully orchestrated musical pieces add to the excitement and atmosphere of this unique performance-based syllabus.

Trinity College London Drama: Busybodies has been awarded a Centre of Excellence by Trinity.

Acting, Mime, Public Speaking, Communication, Performance Arts

The drama syllabus specifications are designed for candidates who want

to develop their skills by engaging with a variety of forms including poetry,

prose and play extracts in a range of styles from different periods.We do

not prescribe the content, which allows pupils and teachers to choose

literary and dramatic forms in which they have a particular interest or that

complement their studies.

  • Develop skills in speaking and understanding text and communication by bringing text to life through performance

  • Practical tasks including performing poetry, prose, extracts from plays and discuss the work with the examiner

  • Integrates study from wider subjects such as English language, literature and history.

Musical Theatre - Private and Group lessons

Students build skills integrating acting, singing and movement/dance from published works of musical theatre/film musicals.

Solo, pair or group, pupils can bring a character and narrative to life with song and movement and we do not prescribe the content.

The format of the exams allows candidates and teachers to choose from a wide range of options, focusing on works in which they have a particular interest or that complement their studies. These exams present students with the practical, creative tasks that prepare them for situations in both education and the workplace, enabling them to develop invaluable 21st century skills in communication and creativity, and to build confidence.

 

Private lessons - pre-booking required - We can offer private lessons in all subjects for audition/exam and development.

 

All classes are certified by an accredited examination board; our teachers hold professional qualifications and receive regular training to update their skills, our lessons follow a syllabus, and our pupils benefit from the highest quality teaching. 

 

When our pupils are ready to move up a grade, accredited external examiners visit the studios; all our examination boards are Ofqual-recognised and award UCAS points for the highest grades. Not all students choose to take examinations, they may move up a grade when ready, we never pressurise students to take exams. However, many of our pupils love exam days, and we pride ourselves on ensuring that our students will achieve fantastic results and also enjoy every step of their learning. 

 

We offer a free trial class (not for Little Learners)

As we offer performing arts classes in many different styles, we recommend pupils try a few styles in the first week, so they can choose classes they enjoyed and would like to attend. If you would like a trial class, please fill in our online registration form:
